Welcome to Rye Society

The Concept

We are Rye Society: a Jewish delicatessen and catering company that blends the best of traditional and contemporary food, set to open July 19, 2018, where the old Hutch & Spoon was located.

The concept behind Rye Society was fueled by owner and operator Jerrod Rosen’s family history and the explosive demand for quality, accessible, and memorable food experiences in Denver. The

Jerrod Rosen is a fourth generation Colorado-native. His great-grandfather Morris Klausner owned Golden Rule Dry Goods, which opened in 1922 just seven blocks away on the corner of 38th and Walnut. Additionally, his father's parents ran Rosen's Grocery store in Denver in the 1930's, his great-grandmother operated Rosen's Kosher Cafe in Denver for many years, and his maternal grandfather owned The Oasis Drive-in, also in Denver.

Jerrod graduated from the French Culinary Institute to hone his front of house hospitality skills at Per Se, Thomas Keller's three Michelin-starred restaurant, and again later with dining guru Danny Meyer at the award-winning Tabla Restaurant in New York City.

Consulting Chef Ryan Leinonen, formerly of Trillium, Colt & Gray, Root Down, and The Kitchen Group, has designed a comprehensive and compelling menu for Rye Society, working with recipes passed down through Rosen’s family.

The Catering arm of our deli is currently taking orders for your next event. See our Catering page for more information.
